In Greek mythology, Persephone was the embodiment of the Earth's fertility at the same time that she was the Queen of the Underworld, daughter of Demeter and Zeus. In the Olympian version, she also becomes the consort of Hades when he becomes the deity that governs the underworld.
Celestial Wise Star, Balrog is one of Hades' 108 Spectres in the manga/anime called Saint Seiya, authored by Masami Kurumada. As Gryphon Minos was busy with matters concerning the holy war with Athena, he had selected Balrog as a replacement, so, Balrog performed the duties smoothly in the First Prison........
